Caloosahatchee Mindfulness

Announcement to The Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha

The Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha is proud to share with everyone some new developments happening here in Fort Myers. For over six years, the Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha has been meeting each Tuesday night at the Renaissance Montessori School in Fort Myers. The Sangha has the intention to reach out to all people in the area, and one way we are looking to accomplish this is by renting a full time space. Having our own space will allow us to hold more diverse events throughout the week.

In order to accomplish the task of creating a space, Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha is partnering with Hearts' Path to Mindful Living to create a new center named “Caloosahatchee Mindfulness.

Hearts’ Path to Mindful Living, Inc.  originating in 2006 with the direction of four visionary founders, is a non-profit corporation that supports programs of Mindfulness in Southwest Florida.  The organization has continued to grow and expand into the community, and in 2010 Hearts' Path was granted a 501(c)(3) Public Charity status by the IRS.  Hearts’ Path’s  purpose is to promote supportive and life-affirming mindfulness-based programs that teach powerful methods for reducing stress and that contribute to health and well-being. We believe that Caloosahatchee Mindfulness has the potential to manifest that purpose and become a home for mindfulness based practices here in Fort Myers.

So what does this mean for the future of the Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha?
The Sangha will continue in the Plum Village tradition meeting on Tuesday night for Mindfulness practices. The Sangha will be meeting at the new Caloosahatchee Mindfulness center.  We are looking forward to making this a home for our community, and we will be expanding our weekly activities to include more meditation events throughout the week.

Ways You Can Help
A new center will increase our opportunities to practice, offering classes, meditations and other events. Your support is vital in sustaining this work.  The expertise and talents that you have can contribute to the development of the community, and we welcome you as a volunteer.  If you are interested in volunteering your expertise or talents as a resource to establish the center, please let us know.

In order to manifest and keep these opportunities alive, there are also ways you can practice generosity and offer financial support. You can donate to help support the sangha by clicking here.

Your Sangha Leadership,
Anne Louise, Chris, and Mary
